Rosan Calls The Fall Of The JCI Not Because Of The Aerospace

JAKARTA - Head of the BPI Implementing Agency (CEO) Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani assessed that the drop in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Index at the launch of the Danantara was not due to the negative response of the Danantara market.

Rosan explained that at that time the JCI in several ASEAN countries, especially those with emerging markets, also weakened.

"Indeed, our Composite Stock Price Index has decreased, but the decline is not only in Indonesia. Even in emerging markets, in ASEAN countries, all of them are experiencing a decline," said Rosan in response to reporters' questions during a press conference at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 6.

CEO of BPI Danantara continued the JCI of the Indonesia Stock Exchange since Monday until today has returned to rebound.

"In fact, our bank prices are already above the price on the 24th yesterday," continued Rosan.

On the same occasion, Rosan admitted that he was not worried about the JCI turmoil, because he believed Indonesia's economic fundamentals were strong.

"Fundamentals from our companies, our banks are very good, very strong. So we believe, all of this is fundamental (strong, ed.)," said Rosan Roeslani.

He then mentioned that President Prabowo Subianto also had time to mention the issue when he received three Danantara leaders at the Palace this afternoon.

"Mr. President also talked like this too. He believes our fundamentals are strong. So, if it goes down, because there is perception or technically, it is a very natural thing, and very common in going up, and the decline in our share prices," said Rosan.

Rosan and Chief Executive of Operations (COO) Dony Oskaria, and Chief Executive of the Investment Division (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir met President Prabowo at the Palace, Wednesday afternoon, and reported their activities for more than a week since Danantara officially formed on February 24.

The meeting lasted more than 2 hours interspersed with breaking the fast together.

The President inaugurated BPI Danantara on February 24, 2025, in an event attended by a majority of state officials, business actors, ambassadors of friendly countries, and foreign guests. President Prabowo, during the launch event, emphasized that Danantara was not only an investment management agency, but also a national development instrument that would optimize Indonesia's wealth management for the welfare of the people.
