Erick And Boy Thohir's Involvement In Pertamina's Corruption Case Has Not Been Caught By The AGO

The Attorney General's Office said that the involvement of SOE Minister Erick Thohir and his brother, Boy Thohir in the case of corruption in crude oil governance and refinery products at PT Pertamina for the 2018-2023 period had not been found.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office, Febrie Adriansyah, who also conveyed that the investigation was still ongoing.

"There is no (involvement, ed) yet. It is still in the process of being investigated," said Febrie after holding a meeting with Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, March 5.

Similarly, the Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, also agreed that the involvement of the two of them had not been found as widely circulated on social media. "There is no information about that," he said.

Instead, he questioned the news that stated the involvement of Erick and Boy Thohir. "Where did such information come from," said Harli.

As previously reported, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) named a total of seven people as suspects in the corruption case of crude oil governance and refinery products at PT Pertamina for the 2018-2023 period on Monday, February 24. Four are Pertamina officials and the rest are private parties.

Those named as suspects are Pertamina Patra Niaga's Managing Director, Riva Siahaan; SDS as Director of Feedstock and Product Optimization of PT Refinery Pertamina Internasional; and YF as President Director of PT Pertamina International Shiping.

Lalu AP selaku VP Feedstock Management PT Kilang Pertamina International; MKAN selaku Beneficial Owner PT Navigator Khatulistiwa; DW selaku Komisaris PT Navigator Khatulistiwa sekaligus Komisaris PT Jenggala Maritim; dan YRJ selaku Komisaris PT Jenggala Maritim sekaligus Dirut PT Orbit Terminal Mera.

The AGO said that the suspect in the alleged corruption case in crude oil management and refinery products mixed fuel oil (BBM) type RON 90 to Pertamax (RON 92).

Then, there are two new suspects who have also been named as suspects. They are the Director of Central Marketing & Niaga Pertamina Patra Niaga, Maya Kusmaya and Edward Corne as VP Trading Operation of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

Regarding the determination of this suspect, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri apologized to the public for the corruption case of oil governance and refinery products. He conveyed this through a press conference at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta on Monday, March 3.

"I, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, as President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), apologize profusely to all Indonesian people for the events that have occurred in the last few days," he said.

Pertamina admits that the corruption case causes unrest in the community. "We will fix ourselves, we will improve ourselves," said Simon.
