Persija Jakarta Sentenced To 4 Matches Without Spectators

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta was fined and sentenced to four home games without spectators in the aftermath of a riot in the match against Persib Bandung on February 16, 2025.

The PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) in its latest announcement quoted on Monday, March 3, 2025, delivered the results of the Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung match session in the 23rd week of Liga 1 2024/2025.

In the match which was held at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, there was a commotion between supporters. There was also a throwing action against Persib's player, Tyronne del Pino, until he was injured in his temple.

"There was a large amount of flare lighting, throwing mineral water bottles, injured victims, and disturbing comfort and security."

"The Persib Bandung team due to the lighting of fireworks at the Persib Bandung team hotel," wrote the PSSI Komdis verdict.

"It is forbidden to hold matches with spectators as many as four matches when hosting, a fine of IDR 220,000,000."

The sanctions from the PSSI Komdis are clearly a major blow to Persija. You see, apart from being obliged to pay a large fine, Persija is also not allowed to receive direct support from The Jakmania in the remaining home match.

In fact, it is known that Persija only leaves five remaining cages until the end of the League 1 season. Persija will host PSIS Semarang (4/3), Arema FC (9/3), Persebaya Surabaya (12/4), Semen Padang (27/4), and Bali United (10/5).
