The Minister Of MSMEs Calls The Establishment Of Danantara Does Not Affect The Distribution Of KUR From BUMN Banks

JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman ensured that the joining of state-owned bank associations (Himbara) into the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) would not affect the distribution of People's Business Credit (KUR).

He assessed that until now there have been no problems related to the distribution of KUR for MSMEs.

"(KUR distribution) until now there has been no issue. It's fine, fine-fine, okay," said Maman when met at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Monday, March 3.

In fact, Maman assessed that the joining of state-owned banks under the auspices of Danantara would actually strengthen the financial capacity of banks in distributing KUR to MSMEs.

"In terms of strength, of course, with the consolidation in the Danantara, it is increasingly providing strength from our SOEs who are members there," he said.

On that occasion, Maman also briefly explained that the government had removed bad debts for a number of MSMEs. As of January 17, 2025, the government has removed bad debts for more than 10,000 MSMEs.

When asked further how much has been the progress of the elimination of the MSME traffic jam receivables, Maman said it had not yet reached 50 percent.

"The important thing is everything on progress. But, I don't think so (above 50 percent)," he said.

As is known, BPI Danantara oversees at least seven jumbo SOEs, three of which are state-owned bank (Himbara) sets, namely PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI.

BPI Danantara aims to manage the 2025 APBN budget savings carried out by ministries and institutions as well as the results of SOE dividends. It is estimated that this new agency will manage total assets worth 900 billion US dollars or around Rp. 14,715 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 16,350).
