Manchester United Knocked Out In FA Cup, Amorim And Wayne Rooney Arguments

JAKARTA - Manchester United's elimination from the FA Cup Fifth Round against Fulham on Sunday, March 2, 2025, sparked debate.

The Red Devils legend, Wayne Rooney, criticized Ruben Amorim, especially because the club won the trophy this season, there was only one left.

Amory also responded to Rooney's statement that the naive coach had a goal of winning the Premier League at Manchester United after being knocked out of the FA Cup.

The Portuguese coach then responded by telling the former club captain that it was easy to become an expert.

Meanwhile, Fulham eliminated Manchester United on penalties (4-3) after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Calvin Bassey put Fulham ahead before halftime before Bruno Fernandes equalized in the second half.

Andre Onana and Bernd Leno had to make a save to take the game on penalties. Leno became a hero on penalties after parrying Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee's kicks.

"I think we started pretty well, we controlled the ball well, controlled the game, but we couldn't keep it throughout the game."

"Sometimes we lower the defensive line to feel more comfortable using the transition."

"I think during the game we created the best chances. With a penalty, that can happen and today is not our day," said Amorim.

Manchester United must win the Europa League to save their season. The trophy is the only possibility that can be pursued because they no longer have a chance to become champions in other events, especially the Premier League this season.
