Marc Marquez Leads The Standings After Winning The Sprint Race, Will Start Leading The Race
JAKARTA - Six-time MotoGP champion, Marc Marquez, started the 2025 season brilliantly.
The new Ducati Lenovo Team racer opened the 2025 MotoGP season at the Thai Grand Prix by winning the Sprint Race at Chang International Circuit, Buriram, on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The achievement was his first Sprint Race win as a Ducati factory rider.
Before winning the Sprint Race, Marc Marquez had secured pole position in the qualification session on the same day. This means that Marquez will start the 2025 Thailand MotoGP main race in pole position.

Reaching pole position above his younger brother, Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing), and his teammate Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez took the lead from start to finish in the 13 lap race. He took the flag to finish by one second from Alex Marquez.
Marc Marquez led the race for the first time since he last won the world title in 2019 with Honda.
Now, Marc Marquez is at the top of the standings with 12 points after winning the Sprint Race.
Meanwhile, this is a sweet start for Marquez. The 32-year-old move to the Ducati Factory team hopes that he will be a competitor to his seventh MotoGP title throughout his career.
