Mohamed Salah Leaded In Contribution To Liverpool: My Best Season

JAKARTA - Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah believes this season is his best season at Anfield as he continues to be at the forefront of goals and assists in the Premier League.

One goal and one assist Salah in a 2-0 win over Manchester City (23 February 2025) made him the first player in Europe's top five leagues to surpass 50 involvement in goals, with 30 goals and 21 assists in all competitions so far this season.

The record was later sharpened when the Egyptian gave one assist when Liverpool won 2-0 over Newcastle on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

The impressive 32-year-old has helped Liverpool widen the 13-point gap at the top of the Premier League standings, placing him on the chances of winning this year's Ballon d'Or.

"I think it's my best season. So far, I think it's my best season because I'm making other players around me feel better. That's how I feel."

"I know their game, all the numbers around all the players. It will be higher than any other season, plus my assist is taller which means I help them a lot."

"If you look in that direction, Cody (Gakpo), Lucho (Diz), other players, their season is better than others."

"I think it's my best season because I make the players around me better," Salah told TNT Sports.

Salah - with Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold - will expire his contract at the end of this season.

While there is still hope that he will agree to a new deal at Anfield, the 32-year-old remains silent about the status of the negotiations.

"In a very polite way, no," he said when asked about contract renewal.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah wants to give everything for Liverpool if this season is his last time at Anfield.

"I want the fans to remember that I gave everything to the fans, I gave everything for this city."

"I'm here, I'm not lazy, I just enjoy my football and give everything."

"I think that's what this city means. They give you love and you have a relationship with them because you give everything."

"I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave it all," Salah said again.

Liverpool have only lost the FA Cup this season. Meanwhile, the English League trophy, Carabao Cup, and the Champions League are still in pursuit. There is still a great opportunity to win trebles this season, the first in history since 2000/2001.

Nearby, the Reds will travel to Paris Saint-Germain headquarters to play the first leg of the Champions League last 16 on March 6, 2025.
