Sritex Employee Layoffs, Airlangga Said He Would Ask Curator
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto is reluctant to comment much on the termination of employment (PHK) that befell employees of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk alias Sritex which will be completely closed on March 1, 2025.
"Yes, we will ask the curator team later," he told the media crew, Friday, February 28.
In addition, Airlangga also did not provide further comments regarding the incentives provided by the government to Sritex.
He only emphasized that the government had delegated the task to the Minister of Manpower Yassierli regarding the Sritex issue.
"The curatorial team will be checked by the Minister of Manpower (Yassierli)," he said.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan said that his party would be at the forefront of defending the rights of Sritex workers who according to the Curator would soon be subject to termination of employment (PHK).
"The state through the Ministry of Manpower will fight with workers. Therefore, we continue to coordinate with the management of PT Sritex Tbk," he said in his statement, Friday, February 28.
Noel conveyed that according to the rules and regulations, companies that have been bankrupted by Commercial Court judges, the company's control is under the authority of the Curator.
"We are a state of law, so we must comply with the law," he said.

Noel said that the Ministry of Manpower and management had actually made maximum efforts so that layoffs would not occur, but the Curator appointed by the Commercial Court chose the option of layoffs.
Therefore, Noel emphasized the next step of the Government, namely guaranteeing the rights of workers and the Ministry of Manpower to guarantee workers' rights to obtain severance pay and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP).
"The Ministry of Manpower is at the forefront of defending workers' rights, and the government guarantees workers will get their rights," said Noel.
