Mikel Arteta Affirms Arsenal Are Still On The Premier League Title Challenger Line

JAKARTA - Mikel Arteta refused to hand over in the race for the Premier League title even though Arsenal trailed 13 points behind leaders Liverpool after a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest, Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Arsenal have lost five points in their last two games and failed to take advantage of Liverpool's draw against Everton and Aston Villa this month.

The failure to claim three points against Nottingham Forest came after Arteta's team recorded only one shot on target at City Ground.

With 11 games remaining - including a trip to Liverpool - and 33 points up for grabs, Arteta said his team would not change their approach to the title race.

"It was the same as a week ago, two weeks ago, three months ago. The only thing we can do is win our game and see how many points we get."

"We've lost two points in the last game and it hurts. It doesn't feel good because we're here to win."

"We show a character that there is no doubt in how much we want and our efforts."

"We dominated the game. We tried in various ways. We defended, but lacked that spirit. We had to produce more shots on target," said Arteta.

Despite failing to score for the second match in a row, Arteta said the performance against Forest was better than against West Ham, which angered him.

"The very different standards (with the defeat against West Ham). We survive with energy, goals, struggles, the will to make things happen."

"We tried until the end, but were unable to do so," said the Spaniard.
