Industry Confidence Index Ups Thin To Level 53.15 In February 2025
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) reported that the industrial confidence index (IKI) in February 2025 was at 53.15.
This value increased by 0.05 points when compared to January 2025 which was 53.10.
"IKI in February 2025 has a value of 53.15, this means an increase of 0.05 points compared to IKI January 2025 with a score of 53.10," said Ministry of Industry spokesman Febri Hendri Antoni Arif in the February 2025 release at the Ministry of Industry office, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.
Of the 23 processing industry sub-sectors analyzed, 21 sub-sectors experienced expansion and 2 contraction sub-sectors. The expansion sub-sector contributed 97.7 percent to the GDP of the Non-Oil and Gas Processing Industry Quarter IV-2024.
The two sub-sectors with the highest value of IKI are the Electric Equipment Industry (KBLI 27) and the Printing and Reproduction Industry of Record Media (KBLI 18).
Meanwhile, the two sub-sectors that experienced contraction were the Wood Industry, Goods from Kayu and Gabus (excluding furniture) and woven goods from Bambu, Rattan, and Similarities (KBLI 16) as well as the Repair and Installation of Machines and Equipment (KBLI 33).
In February 2025, there was an acceleration of the expansion of the value of the new order variable IKI by 1.83 points or reaching 54.57. On the other hand, the value of the production variable IKI is still expanding despite a slowdown of 2.84 points or reaching 50.55.
Furthermore, the value of IKI product inventory variables also experienced a slowdown in expansion of 0.06 points or reached 53.52. Business activities in general increased slightly with 78.4 percent of respondents stating that their business activities were improving and stable.
"A total of 78.4 percent of respondents said their business activities were improving and stable. Industry proportions which stated that their business conditions in February 2025 improved by 32.6 percent or an increase of 2.3 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of respondents who answered their business conditions was stable was 45.8 percent," said Febri.
Then the percentage of business actors who stated that their business conditions decreased in February 2025 to 21.5 percent. Furthermore, in February 2025, the optimism of business actors for their business conditions in the next 6 months decreased compared to January 2025, which was 72.2 percent.

"This figure decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous percentage," said Febri.
As many as 21.2 percent of business actors stated that their business conditions were stable for the next 6 months. This figure decreased 0.6% compared to the percentage of the previous month.
"Meanwhile, the percentage of pessimism of the views of business actors on business conditions in the next 6 months is 6.6 percent, an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the percentage of the previous month," he concluded.
