PTPP Project, Construction Of Terminal Kalibaru Phase 1B At Tanjung Priok Port Reaches 75 Percent
JAKARTA - The 1B Phase Kalibaru Terminal construction project at Tanjung Priok Port continues to show significant developments. Until now, the realization of physical progress has reached 75 percent, this project with a contract value of Rp. 3.83 trillion was carried out by PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), one of the leading construction companies in Indonesia.
This project aims to strengthen the role of Tanjung Priok Port as the main gateway for export and import distribution in Indonesia. Given its strategic position and is connected to various other ports, the development of port areas is a priority to accommodate the increase in cargo and logistics volume and improve loading and unloading services.
In the Kalibaru Terminal Work Contract Phase 1B, PTPP worked on a number of strategic work scopes, including reclamation and land repair in the Petikemas 2 Terminal area (CT2), Inner Port Road, and Reserved Area. Construction of the 800-meter CT2 pier structure and 150-meter CT3 pier and dredging of the CT2 dock pool and construction of breakwaters as well as the use of innovative technologies such as the Vacuum Preloading method and LIDAR drones to accelerate implementation and ensure the accuracy of reclamation work.
Vacuum Preloading Method is a solution to improve the soft soil layer (very soft solitary) in order to ensure structural stability. Then the use of material results from dredging as a reclamation material to support the principle of sustainable construction. In addition, BIM (Building Information Modeling) and Drone LIDAR technologies are used for precision measurements of topography and volume of reclamation.
Another is the use of cement slag, the result of steel processing waste, in the Deep Soil Mixing method as part of a green construction. One of the highlights regarding the application of technology from this project is a 2 meter long steel stake with a diameter of 50 meters, which is the largest and longest pole in Indonesia, without a connection from Cilegon to Priok.
President Director of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia, Arif Suhartono, appreciated the work of the Kalibaru terminal project.

"The quality of work is neat and good, in order to maintain the quality and time of work as stipulated," said Arif.
Arif added that with strong synergy and technological innovation, he is optimistic that this project can be completed on time and provide great benefits for the community and increase the competitiveness of Tanjung Priok Port in the international arena.
This project also has a number of uniqueness that makes it one of the largest modern port constructions in Indonesia.
"The reclamation activity in this project utilizes dredged mud material to form a new area of 260 hectares, as well as repairing land in an area of 100 hectares using the Vacuum Preloading method," said PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo.
