ABMM And Sun Energy Subsidiaries Build The First PLTS CBESS In Indonesia
JAKARTA - A subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABMM), PT Cipta Kridatama, and solar energy development company SUN Energy collaborate to develop the first Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS) in Indonesia.
PLTS CBESS is a solar power plant with a microgrid battery energy storage system in containers.
"This PLTS is part of PT Cipta Kridatama's commitment to implementing sustainability practices in the industrial sector. The implementation of this system is a real step in supporting the ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiative of the ABM Group," said President Director of Cipta Kridatama Meidi Wibowo in a written statement, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 25.
The power plant is located in Jambi with a capacity of 643.8 kilowatt peak (kWp) and is equipped with a battery storage system of 1 megawatt hour (MWh) packaged in a 20-foot container.
He said that his party was committed to continuing to improve operational efficiency as well as adopting sustainable solutions in the company's business activities.
The implementation of the CBESS PLTS is also a strategic step for Cipta Kridatama in reducing carbon emissions as part of the commitment to implementing the ABM Group ESG.
Meidi Wibowo stated that the use of renewable energy is estimated to produce more than 849 thousand kiloWatt hour clean energy each year and reduce carbon footprint by 660 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to planting more than 10,900 trees.
"By utilizing renewable energy, we have contributed to realizing greener and more sustainable mining operations," he said.
