Dubiis Dubiis Lawan Usyk Belum Keluar Jalan
JAKARTA IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is still on track to prepare for a rematch against Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk.
The 27-year-old British boxer was forced to withdraw from the fight to defend his world title against New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker, in Saudi Arabia, last weekend, due to illness.
His promoter Frank Warren said the problem did not immediately erase the unification fight plan against Usyk, who dominated the WBO, WBA (Super), and WBO titles.
"You have to look at the next step and I think it will be with Usyk in a fight over four belts or maybe Anthony Joshua," Warren said.
Dubois and Usyk had previously fought in August 2023 in Poland. At that time, Usyk managed to beat the opponent by knockout (KO) in the ninth round.

Dubois was later promoted to IBF champions after Usyk vacated the championship belt in June 2024 or shortly after he beat Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion.
Dubois managed to defend the IBF belt for the first time after he beat his compatriot, Anthony Joshua, in five rounds at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.
Unfortunately, he then had to step down ahead of the fight against Parker after a medical evaluation. His position was replaced by Martin Bakole, who finally lost in just two rounds.
Warren said that regarding possible duels with Usyk and other options they would discuss first jointly with Dubois before making a decision.
"Everyone's view is important, but the most important view is Daniel's view because he is the one who will get into the ring and he is the one who makes the final decision," Warren said.
