Deputy Chairperson Of The MPR: Young Generation Literacy Must Be Improved Consistently

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Lestari Moerdijat said the literacy ability of the younger generation must be consistently improved to realize a more advanced and strong national life in the future.

"The ability of good community literacy is one of the signs that a nation has an advanced civilization. Let us both show that we are able to become a civilized nation armed with the ability to understand every book that is read," said the woman who is familiarly called Rerie in her statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 22.

According to him, the challenge faced today is how to invite the younger generation to appreciate and appreciate the writers, including learning from great writers such as Pramoedya Ananta Toer.

Rerie, who is also a member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Second Election of Central Java, assessed that the presence of literacy rooms to discuss and discuss the contents of a book provides greater opportunities for the younger generation so that they are not only able to read, but also understand the books they read.

Momentum for the younger generation to get to know the writers and writers more closely through their various work books must continue to be created.

"In order to increase public understanding, especially the younger generation, of the thoughts of writers through their works, it can continue to be realized in order to create a more civilized and competitive society in the future," he concluded.
