Said Abdullah Affirms There Is No Change In The Position Of Secretary General At PDIP After Hasto Was Arrested By The KPK

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Said Abdullah emphasized that until now there has been no change in the position of secretary general (secretary general) in the management of the PDI-P Central Leadership Council (DPP), after the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Hasto Kristiyanto was detained by the KPK.

"There is no replacement for the secretary general, period," Said said when he left the residence of the General Chairperson of the PDI-P, Megawati Soekarnoputri, on Jalan Teuku Umar, Jakarta, Friday, February 21, evening, as reported by Antara.

He also said that all authority related to organization lies with Megawati as general chairman. That way, he also dismissed the assumption that he would be appointed Secretary General of the DPP replacing Hasto.

"All authority in the general chairman," said the man who also serves as Chairman of the DPR RI Budget Agency.

On Friday afternoon until evening, a number of PDIP officials were seen visiting Megawati's residence on Jalan Teuku Umar. Apart from Said, another official who appears is Dedi Sitorus who is also the Chair of the PDIP DPP.

The meeting between the PDIP elites was allegedly related to the ban on regional heads from the PDI-P from participating in the retreat held by the government at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java.

Previously, Megawati instructed regional heads who were promoted by her party not to participate in debriefing or retret events at the Military Academy (Akmil), Magelang, Central Java, February 21, 2024.

This is contained in the PDI-P's official letter numbered 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 which was signed by General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri on Thursday, February 20.

The instruction arose after observing the dynamics of national politics that occurred, especially after the detention of PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
