Judge Grants Justice Collaborator For Edhy Prabowo's Bribery Actor

JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) granted the justice collaborator's request filed by the defendant Suharjito in a bribery case for the export license of lobster or fries. Suharjito was Edhy Prabowo's bribe.

"Granted the defendant's request to become a Justice Collaborator," said chief judge Albertus Usada during the trial at the Tipikor Court, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 21.

The request was granted due to several considerations that mitigate the verdict. There are seven mitigating points, one of which is about Suharjito giving honest information.

"The defendant has never been convicted, the defendant became the backbone of the family, the defendant was cooperative in undergoing the trial process, gave an open statement during the trial," said Albertus.

Apart from that, another mitigating consideration was that the defendant Suharjito became the dependable place for thousands of employees of PT Dua Putera Perkasa Pratama (DPPP).

For the panel of judges, the defendant was also of good behavior by often donating to people in need.

"The defendant became the life dependent of more than 1,250 employees of PT DPPP. The defendant cared every year to give 10 Muslim employees/female employees the opportunity to perform Umrah worship. And also for non-Muslim employees/female employees to make pilgrimages to the holy land according to their beliefs and religions," he explained. Albertus.

"The defendant has contributed to building two mosques and routinely providing compensation to orphans and poor people in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas," he continued.

In this case, Surharjito was sentenced to 2 years in prison and a fine of Rp250 million, a subsidiary of 3 months in prison.
