Bribe Actor Of Edhy Prabowo Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - President Director (Managing Director) of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (DPPP) Suharjito was sentenced to 2 years in prison and a fine of Rp250 million, a subsidiary of 3 months in prison. Suharjito was found guilty in the case of lobster or fries export permit at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).

"Declare that the defendant is legally proven and convincingly guilty of continuing the criminal act of corruption," said chief judge Albertius Usada during a trial at the Corruption Court in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 21.

The panel of judges considers both burdensome and mitigating matters. What was burdensome to the verdict was Suharjito's act of not supporting the government's program in eradicating corruption.

Meanwhile, for mitigating matters, Suharjito has never been convicted, has been the backbone of the family, is cooperative in undergoing the trial process, and provides information candidly at the trial.

"The defendant became the dependent for the lives of more than 1,250 employees of PT DPPP. The defendant cared every year to give 10 employees/female Muslim employees the opportunity to perform Umrah," said the judge.

For other mitigating matters, according to the judge, Suharjito also gave non-Muslim employees and female employees the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the holy land according to their beliefs and religions.

"The defendant has contributed to building two mosques and routinely providing compensation to orphans and poor people in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas," said the judge.

Previously, Suharjito was charged with 3 years in prison plus a fine of Rp200 million, a subsidiary of 6 months in prison.

Suharjito is considered proven and convincing to bribe Edhy Prabowo when he was Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries amounting to Rp2.146 billion consisting of US $ 103,000 (around Rp1.44 billion) and Rp706,001,440.00.
