Synergy Between The TNI And MHU: Pascatambang Land Grows Hope For Economic Independence
Pangdam VI/Mulawarman Maj. Gen. Rudy Rachmat Nugraha made a working visit to the post-mining area of PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) in the Miniranch and Jayatama Agriculture Area managed by PT Bramasta Sakti (Bramasta) in Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan, Friday, February 14.
During his visit, Pangdam VI/Mulawarman emphasized the importance of synergy between various parties in optimizing the use of post-mining land to support food security and community welfare in the area around the company's operations.
As a form of support for the food security program, Pangdam VI/Mulawarman planted corn seedlings on post-mining land. This step is part of the TNI's initiative to help the community obtain sustainable food sources while strengthening food security in the East Kalimantan region.
Pangdam VI/Mulawarman Maj. Gen. Rudy Rachmat Nugraha emphasized that the synergy between the TNI and the private sector in supporting food security is very necessary. Through this program, it is hoped that there will be opportunities for the surrounding community to be more economically independent and improve their welfare in a sustainable manner.
In an effort to expand its benefits, this program also collaborates with students from SMK El-Fhaluy Al Faizin Loa Kulu, SMKN 3 Tenggarong, and the impact of students from Kutai Kartanegara University. The educational institution is touring to participate in direct learning activities on an area of 3.7 hectares which includes agricultural and livestock practices, in order to equip students with skills so that they can be applied in the world of work and independent businesses.
Meanwhile, the Head of Mining Engineering, MHU Aris Subagyo, stated that the productive use of post-mining land not only supports food security, but is also a forum for the development of science.
We welcome the initiative of Pangdam VI/Mulawarman in supporting food security in this region. The synergy between MHU, educational institutions, and the government, including the TNI, is very important in creating sustainable benefits for the community. We hope that this collaboration can open up new economic opportunities for the surrounding community," he said.
