Ahok Affirms 70 Percent Of KWK Public Transportation Is Not Roadworthy In Today's Memory, February 16, 2016

JAKARTA Memories of today, nine years ago, February 16, 2016, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) emphasized that 70 percent of public transportation under the auspices of the Wahana Kalpika Cooperative (KWK) is not roadworthy. Ahok revealed that it was time for public transportation to only be used for villages.

Previously, the KWK public transportation had a myriad of problems in Jakarta. The existence is considered to be one of the causes of congestion in Jakarta. Angkot is said to like to hang out in any place until the driver shoots. Not to mention security matters on the angkot.

The public transportation system in Jakarta is considered the best compared to other regions in Indonesia. The case of several public transportation in Jakarta is often a serious problem. The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahok agreed.

Ahok revealed that the last KWK Angkot in Jakarta was one of the most problematic. Angkot never knew a place to hang out for passengers. They will not run if the passengers are few. The driver's business is another problem.

The shooting driver made the security and comfort above the angkot disturbed. Not to mention the security affairs above the angkot. People sometimes understand that public transportation is not safe. However, some consider Jakarta residents to have no choice.

Ahok tries to digest the problem of public transportation in Jakarta. He sees that public transportation can only accommodate one road. Other matters are trying to be considered. Ahok concluded that the public transportation could actually be replaced by a TransJakarta bus.

He also has plans to add a TransJakarta bus fleet. The option is considered the most reasonable. The price of the TransJakarta bus name is considered cheaper and more affordable. Jakarta residents can also access it everywhere.

He no longer wants to hear that Jakarta residents are victims of sexual violence on public transportation. He also did not want to hear about the many accidents caused by the shooting driver.

"I said, if the bus is enough, it is impossible for people to ride the angkot. The dark angkot is no longer a shooting driver. We will apply the rupiah per kilometer. If that's the case, we'll be cheap, you don't want to ride a public transportation which is more expensive. Well, that's what we want to offer."

"Now we are talking about buses, once we ride Rp. 3,500, which can take an AC bus of Rp. 3,500, Rp. 6000 and Rp. 7000. We will issue a program of Rp. 6000 and Rp. 7000, you are free to take a bus in Jakarta which is part of the rupiah per kilometer, including those to the Thousand Islands," Ahok said as quoted on the detik.com page, June 22, 2015.

Ahok's desire to make TransJakarta buses compete with public transportation. Ahok to reveal that 70 percent of the KWK public transportation is not feasible to operate on February 16, 2016. This problem can be seen from the age of the vehicle to the driver.

Even so, Ahok did not want to eliminate public transportation from Jakarta. Instead, he offered that KWK join the TransJakarta management. This narrative allows KWK to run according to the standards of the DKI Jakarta government.

Angkot will only operate on small roads and villages. Ahok said the challenge was open. He emphasized that the KWK public transportation would not win if they wanted to compete with the DKI Jakarta government. The only option is to join TransJakarta.

"We convey the KWK public transportation to them, 70 percent do not deserve to run. That's why we offer them to transform into buying a big bus. You can join five people (buy) a bus. Our bus operates 24 hours, that's what we offer. . "

"Even change the gas, you won't win against us. Because our bus (rif) is almost free, actually, and I don't want you (the angkot manager) to go bankrupt," Ahok said as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, February 16, 2016.
