House Of Representatives: The Sooner The Holiday Allowance Is Paid, The Faster The Economy Is Recovered
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) Saleh Partaonan Daulay has encouraged the government to oversee the provision of holiday allowances (THR) to be paid 10 days before Idul Fitri 2021.
"We hope that the government can immediately oversee the provision of holiday allowance to the community, especially our workers, D-10 before Eid", said Saleh when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, April 21.
It is hoped that this holiday allowance can help the community, especially workers, to meet the needs of Eid Al-Fitr in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
"So because of that, we will jointly escort so that there are no obstacles in giving the holiday allowance", said Saleh.
The chairman of the DPR from the PAN Party Faction reminded the public to use the holiday allowance wisely even though there was a ban on going home.
"We can't go home to our hometowns, we hope that the holiday allowance given can be used as much as possible for the benefit of the family", he appealed.
"Even if it is in excess, don't use it carelessly, we don't know when the pandemic will be over", Saleh continued.
Regarding the opening of tourist attractions, Saleh also hopes that the community will better take advantage of the Eid holiday to gather with their families at home.
In addition, the government also needs to carry out monitoring at guard posts at tourist sites to prevent crowds of visitors.
"In my opinion, tourism must also be limited and guarded so that there is no potential for the spread of COVID-19 in tourist attractions. I think there should be monitoring too", he said.
According to the legislator for the North Sumatra II electoral district, although the holiday allowance is not used for going home and traveling, the money can still flow because people spend it for household needs.
"No (problem, red). If there is money, people will definitely use it to spend on basic necessities. Still there is money circulating in the community. What is not allowed is money to gather in the hands of people, in the hands of entrepreneurs, in the hands of the government alone. That is not allowed. It should be given to people who need the holiday allowance", said Saleh.
"The faster it is paid, the faster the circulation of money. People's purchasing power increases, our economy will be good", he added.
