Minister Ara Will Blacklist Housing Developers Who Build Unquality Subsidy Houses
JAKARTA - The Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) will take action against housing developers who do not build quality subsidized houses.
The reason, Ara said, in recent times his party has reviewed a number of residential locations and found that many subsidized houses do not meet quality standards.
"There are quite a lot of findings of subsidized houses. Some (which) were damaged (because) the flood was just built. We have been going to the field for some time," said Ara during a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.
"We have asked for an audit this morning, we have sent the letter," he added.
Ara regretted this finding. In fact, he said, President Prabowo Subianto had given directions so that the construction of subsidized houses would continue to prioritize quality.
"We are very sad and disappointed. We got off in a different place, we found quite a lot of problems. Meanwhile, the president's message for subsidized houses should not be of poor quality. He can subsidize, but have quality," said Ara.
"If necessary (we) make a blacklist rather than a list of developers who do not carry out according to the development regulations, because it is clearly detrimental to the people," he continued.
In addition, according to Ara, developers should be happy with the 3 Million House program. This is because the program can increase income for developers who work on it.
"We will put this program forward. Because it requires many developers. (Developer) is happy and the bank is also happy, because he has low bad credit," he concluded.
Previously, the Ministry of PKP found at least 14 developers in Jabodetabek who built uninhabitable housing.
This was discovered after Minister Ara last few weeks conducted a review of subsidized housing that was included in the FLPP category and found at least 14 rogue developers in Jabodetabek.
