Pandu Sjahrir, Son Of Economist Dr. Sjahrir Rumored To Be An Antara High
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Digital Finance Development of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Pandu Patria Sjahrir, is reportedly officially joining the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Dantara). This issue emerged after its presence in a strategic meeting related to project financing of three million houses at the Bank Indonesia (BI) office on Tuesday, February 11, evening.
During the meeting, a number of high-ranking officials were present, including the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo, and Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI Misbakhun. After the meeting, Maruarar Sirait, who is familiarly called Ara, introduced Pandu as a representative from Danantara.
"Pak Pandu from Danantara," said Ara when giving a press statement at the BI office, Jakarta.
Prior to the meeting in BI, Ara was also reported to have held a meeting with Pandu at the Danantara office located in the Central Jakarta area.
However, when confirmed regarding his position in Danantara, the son of a prominent economist, Dr. Sjahrir, was reluctant to provide detailed information. When met after the meeting at BI, he only gave a short answer.
"Not yet, not yet," said Pandu.
Pandu Sjahrir is not a foreign figure in Indonesia's economic and investment world. He is the son of reformist economist Dr. Sjahrir, who is known for his critical thinking and his contribution to national economic policies. Dr. Sjahrir also plays a role in Indonesia's democratic transition and actively provides deep insight into the country's economic governance.

Unlike his father, who is more focused on academics and public policy, Pandu chose business and investment. He started his career as an analyst at Lehman Brothers in 2001.
His career has soared since returning to Indonesia in 2010. His role as Vice President Director at TBS Energi Utama, Managing Partner at Indies Capital and Founding Partners at AC Ventures, to Commissioner of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), shows his capacity in understanding the large-scale funding structure.
With his track record in the financial and investment industry, the news of Pandu's involvement in Danantara has the potential to have a significant impact on the management of state assets as a whole.
