PBG Service Can Be Completed Faster, Minister Of PKP: There Is Progress That Is Said To Be Radical
JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) said that the faster Building Approval Licensing (PBG) service is a form of very radical change from public services.
"I am grateful to God that I traveled to Serang (PBG's permit) for 1 hour, at Ubi Cilembu's place, Sumedang could be 53 minutes. It's amazing that Sumedang. Then in Gianyar, which is extraordinary, it can be 14 minutes 18 seconds," said Ara in the Mandiri Investment Forum 2025 agenda which was monitored online, Tuesday, February 11.
"What does that mean? In my opinion, the jump in public services in Indonesia is no longer evolution, but there is a progress that might be said to be radical or revolutionary. Because it can make the previous months 14 minutes into 14 minutes," he added.
Ara emphasized that it had never happened in previous years that PBG permits could come out in less than 1 hour. This step aimed at the good of the people is considered very progressive.
"I want to say that the country can make this, make a red carpet for the small people. Because we don't want our country to make red carpets for investors, but make black carpets for its own people," he stressed.
According to Ara, his party has learned many things from the predecessors. Thus, he said, his party will continue to strive to be better at that of President Prabowo Subianto's leadership.
"We also have to tell our brothers and sisters that we learned a lot from our predecessors who have struggled to build, manage natural resources, land, rules, in our country. And we certainly strive to be better, more correct, faster manage it, under President Prabowo's administration," he said.

In addition, Ara also reminded the public to immediately complete PBG for those who have not taken care of it, especially in rural areas. For him, there is no more reason for the people not to take care of PBG, because the approval for the permit is faster to be obtained and freer.
"In our village, many people build their own houses without permission. Now I can say take care of the permit, if I don't get a fine soon. Why? The permit is free and fast. Why? (Because) we have to have a complete database. Take care of the free and fast permit, if you don't take care of my permit, fine," he said.
