Poverty Rate In Jakarta Increases, Regional Representatives Highlight Data Collection For The Poor Is Not Yet Right On Target

JAKARTA - The poverty rate for the citizens of the capital city has increased this year compared to last year. Chairman of Commission E of DKI Jakarta Regional Representatives (DPRD) Iman Satria said that one of the factors was the data collection on the poor which had not been on target.

This data collection is included in the integrated social welfare data (DTKS). Usually, residents who are included in the DTKS are the target recipients of social assistance from the government.

"Friends of Commission E highlight the DTKS problem. The DTKS is the spirit of everything to get help. The KJP (Jakarta Smart Card), elderly assistance, all of them are through the DTKS data", Iman told reporters, Tuesday, April 20.

To fix the problem of not precisely targeting the DTKS, Iman asked the Social Service (Dinsos) to more frequently update the data collection of the poor who were included in the DTKS. Iman asked the Social Service to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Affairs regarding the data collection.

"The procedure is softened. The door for admission should not be done twice a year. We ask that the door be opened three or four times a year so that residents do not have to wait too long", said Iman.

Iman asked the DKI Dinsos to be more proactive in filling out the DTKS. Moreover, it is estimated that the poor in the Capital City will increase after Ramadan.

"We hope that in the future, the Social Agency will be more proactive. Especially now, the People with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) in the field can be maintained. Because certainly many people come from the village during Ramadan", said Iman.

In addition, Iman hopes that the Dinsos can optimize human resources (HR) so that the DTKS inventory process is carried out on target. Including, the provision of human resources in the village so that it makes it easier for residents to take care of the administrative management of the DTKS.

"People at the Social Service, we hope that there will be someone on standby, don't let the people wait for all the way to the urban village by registering the DTKS, don't tell the people about the survey but they don't know where the survey is. We will also recommend this DTKS issue from Commission E", he concluded.
