Ministry Budget Cuts, Erick Thohir Ensures Priority Programs Keep Running

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir ensured that his ministry's priority program would continue to run amid efficiency or budget cuts.

"I think as long as we work optimally, we don't complain, we do it as much as possible. I think with the limited BUMN funds so far, we always work hard," he told the media crew at the Ministry of SOEs office, Jakarta, Monday, February 10.

Erick said his party would still work hard even though the budget was shrinking. Regarding budget cuts, he admitted that he could not comment much because it had not been decided.

Furthermore, Erick also said that he would find ways to continue the ongoing projects. He said the transformation of SOEs was also continuing.

"We are trying to find a way without complaining, because it is important for us to push that the policy is road, the transformation of SOEs is running," he said.

The government has decided to efficiency the Ministry/Institutional Budget (K/L) of IDR 256.1 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year.

The policy is contained in the presidential instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025 concerning the Efficiency of Expenditures in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget for the 2025 fiscal year. The regulation immediately took effect when it was issued on January 22, 2025.

Then reiterated through the Letter of the Minister of Finance Number S-37/MK.02/2025. Meanwhile, in the letter, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati also instructed the Minister/Leaders of Institutions to identify the K/L spending efficiency plan.

The efficiency plan includes operational and non-operational spending in all Ministries/Agencies. However, the savings plan does not include personnel expenditure or social assistance (bansos). This is stated in point 2a.

As for the attachment, there are several efficient plans, namely:

1. Office Writing Tool (ATK), with an efficiency of 90.0 percent.

2. Ceremonial activity, with an efficiency of 56.9 percent.

3. Meeting, Seminar and the like, with an efficiency of 45.0 percent.

4. Study and Analysis, with an efficiency of 51.5 percent.

5. Diklat and Bimtek, with an efficiency of 29.0 percent.

6. Honor Output of Professional Activities and Services, with an efficiency of 40.0 percent.

7. Print and Souvenir, with an efficiency of 75.9 percent.

8. Rental Buildings, Vehicles and Equipment, with an efficiency of 73.3 percent.

9. App license, with efficiency 21.6 percent.

10. Consultant service, with an efficiency of 45.7 percent.

11. Government assistance, with 16.7 percent efficiency.

12. Maintenance and maintenance, with an efficiency of 10.2 percent.

13. Office travel, with an efficiency of 53.9 percent.

14. Equipment and engine, with an efficiency of 28 percent.

15. Infrastructure, with an efficiency of 34.3 percent.

16. Other expenditures, with an efficiency of 59.1 percent.
