Former Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources SBY Era, Darwin Zahedy Saleh Dies

JAKARTA - Sad news came from the former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for the 2009-2011 period, Darwin Zahedy Saleh, who died on Friday, February 7 at 18:39 WIB. Darwin died at the age of 64 at Siloam Hospital, Jakarta.

Darwin Zahedy Saleh was born in Sapat, Indragiri Hilir, Riau, on October 29, 1960. He is the son of the couple HM Saleh (deceased) and Hj. King of Praise S (deceased). At the age of 10, Darwin moved to Jakarta and settled in the Kemayoran area.

Darwin studied undergraduate education at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (FEUI) majoring in Economics Science. He obtained his master's degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Tennessee, United States. Then, Darwin won a doctorate (S3) in the field of Management from the University of Indonesia.

Darwin's professional career began as a lecturer at FEUI since 1986. Apart from teaching, Darwin also took part in various fields such as finance, banking, and management consultants.

In 2009, Darwin was appointed as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in the United Indonesia Cabinet II under the leadership of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. After completing his term of office in 2011, Darwin was again active in the world of academics and various other activities.
