North Sumatra Police Arrest Police Shooter During Sergap, Methamphetamine Dealer
The North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) arrested the perpetrator who allegedly shot the Deli Serdang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit personnel, Brigadier Bagus Maulana, while carrying out the task of arresting the methamphetamine dealer.
"Personnel arrested a man with the initials N who was the perpetrator of the shooting of personnel who carried out their duties," said Acting Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police Yudhi Suryana Pinem as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 7.
Yudhi said this incident began with the arrest of an officer against a suspected shabu-shabu dealer on Jalan Sidomulyo, Sei Rotan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, Wednesday (5/2).
Officers arrested a man suspected of being a shabu-shabu dealer with evidence of nine packages of narcotics weighing about eight grams.
However, when officers tried to bring the suspect to the vehicle, the crowd suddenly confronted him, causing the situation to heat up and lead to a brutal attack on Brigadier Bagus.
In critical conditions, officers fired warning shots into the air four times to disperse the crowd. However, the man with the initials N attacked Brigadier Bagus using a stone that caused the victim to fall with a head wound.
