Police Arrest 3 British Citizens Smuggling Cocaine In Bali

The Bali Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate arrested three foreign nationals from England with the initials JC (37), LE (39), and PA (31) who were suspected of being involved in smuggling cocaine on the Island of the Gods.

"We have secured foreign nationals, namely British citizens with the initials JC, LE, and PA. PA pick-up at Bali Airport. Cocaine from England was brought by JC and LE," said Deputy Director of Drug Investigation at the Bali Police AKBPPonco Indriyo, Friday, February 7.

Initially the police arrested JC and LE at the International Arrival Terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 20.00 WITA.

The drugs brought by JC and LE are a type of cocaine weighing 994.56 grams. The drugs were brought from England via Doha Airport, Qatar, then to Indonesia.

The plan is for the drug market to be marketed in Bali, but the narcotics were successfully secured by Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise and Bali Police when they passed the officer's examination.

"The mode is put in a suitcase, packaged in a food package," said Ponco.

Initially, the officers were suspicious of JC and LE's luggage when passing the X-ray machine.

Based on the analysis in JC's gray suitcase, officers found 10 blue plastic packages that read Angel Delight with various flavors containing white powder weighing 637.12 grams which allegedly contained class 1 narcotics preparations.

In addition, in the suitcase of the perpetrator LE, officers found seven plastic packages weighing 443.10 grams which allegedly contained the preparation of narcotics class 1 type of cocaine.

JC and LE were then secured at the Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise Office for further investigation.

Furthermore, on Monday (3/2), Bali Police personnel carried out control delivery or drug delivery supervised until another foreigner with the initials PA was arrested in the Tuban area, Badung Regency, which is suspected of being related to the narcotics crime.

The value of cocaine confiscated by officers from British foreigners was around Rp. 6 billion.

Not only once, it turned out that after being investigated by officers, the foreigner had already acted for the third time.

Ponco did not explain in detail the two previous cases considering that the investigation was still ongoing to find out about the international narcotics network in Bali.

When presented at a press conference at the Bali Police Headquarters, Friday, the three British foreigners were handcuffed along with dozens of other prisoners.

JC and PA were seen laughing several times during a press conference and when the media crew took pictures of the two.

The three foreigners were named as suspects and charged with Article 113 paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
