Regarding The Revision Of The Sports Law, Coordinating Minister Yusril Asks IADO To Coordinate With The Ministry Of Youth And Sports
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections (Kumham Imipas) Yusril Ihza Mahendra asked the Indonesian Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) to coordinate with related institutions in discussing possible revisions to Law (UU) Number 11 of 2022 concerning Sport.
Minister Yusril said the revision of the law was needed to strengthen regulations and law enforcement in the field of anti-doping in Indonesia.
"Coordination can be done with related institutions such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum)," Yusril said in an audience with IADO in Jakarta, Thursday, February 6, as confirmed by Antara today.
He revealed that this step shows the Government's commitment to creating a world of sports that is free from the use of prohibited substances and increases compliance with international anti-doping standards set by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
With the cooperation between various related institutions, he hopes that the revision of regulations can run smoothly and have a positive impact on the development of national sports.
During the meeting, Coordinating Minister Yusril was accompanied by Expert Staff of Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Human Rights Imipas for Cooperation and Inter-Institutional Relations Cahyani Suryandari, Special Staff of Coordinating Minister for Kumham Imipas for Strategic Issues Karjono, as well as Special Staff of Coordinating Minister for Kumham Imipas for Communication and Media and Iqbal Fadil.

Chairman of IADO Gatot Dewa Broto and his staff were also present at the hearing. IADO is an institution responsible for monitoring doping in Indonesia.
In addition, IADO also has the task of conducting anti-doping education, carrying out intelligence and investigative duties, as well as establishing communication and cooperation with various parties, including reporting their activities to WADA.
Throughout 2024, IADO has taken 1,543 samples of athlete doping tests from a number of sporting events held in Indonesia.
The number of samples that have been taken by the Directorate of Testing of the institution includes 1,170 samples from the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) and 181 samples from the 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas).
