Jordan Appreciation Saudi Arabia Firmly Rejects Trump's Plan To Take Over Gaza

JAKARTA - King Jordan Abdullah welcomed Saudi Arabia's firm stance and support for the rights of the Palestinian people.

He expressed his appreciation in a telephone conversation with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, February 5 local time.

During the phone call, the Saudi Press Agency reported, Abdullah and the crown prince discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian region and efforts to achieve security and stability.

US President Donald Trump in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, said he wanted to move all Palestinians from Gaza. The US wants to take over the economic rebuilding of Palestine.

"AS will take over the Gaza Strip and we will also do work with it; we will have it," Trump said.

Following Trump's statement, the Government of Saudi Arabia issued a firm statement regarding their position towards the establishment of an immovable Palestinian state. Saudi Arabia also rejected any attempt to expel Palestinians from their lands.

"The Saudi Arabia will continue its relentless efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without it," the Saudi Arabian government said in a statement.

"Achieving lasting and fair peace is impossible without the Palestinian people acquiring their legitimate rights in accordance with international resolutions, as previously explained to the previous US administration and at this time," the statement continued.
