Commemorating World Cancer Day, Etana Commits To Develop Products For Cancer Treatment In Indonesia
JAKARTA - In commemoration of World Cancer Day, Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia (Etana) affirms its commitment to providing high quality and affordable cancer treatment solutions. As a local biofarmation company, Etana continues to innovate in developing and producing medicines that can be accessed by all cancer patients in Indonesia.
Currently, Etana has produced one product, namely Bebeacizumab, a monoclonal antibody-based target therapy that functions to inhibit the growth of blood vessels in tumors. This is one of the important steps in cancer therapy.
"Etana is the first biopharmaceutical company in Indonesia to produce Bevacazumab through technology transfers," said Etana's Business Development Therapeutic Director Randy Stevian in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, February 6.
Apart from Bevacazumab, Etana is also developing more monoclonal antibody products for more affordable cancer therapy. In the future, Etana plans to develop more locally produced high-tech cancer-based products. In addition, the company will also expand export reach to ASEAN and Middle Eastern countries with halal-certified facilities.
"We are optimistic that in the future, both Etana and other biofarmation companies in Indonesia will be able to synergize, it can also support the government in providing drugs that are much more affordable and of course support the national resilience government program," said Randy.

In addition, Randy emphasized that Etana is also committed to continuing to support the government in raising awareness about early detection of cancer, which is a big challenge in Indonesia.
"The biggest challenge is not only industry but how to educate the public in getting good information about cancer treatment," he said.
As part of efforts to increase access to cancer treatment, Etana is actively collaborating with various stakeholders including the government, medical associations, and parties who are in direct contact with patients.
