Lokananta Bekali 5 Finalist Bintang Muda Lokananta Through Intensive Workshop To Single And Tur Recordings

Lokananta has announced five musicians who passed the audition for the Bintang Muda Lokananta talent search program to further participate in a series of workshops, mentoring, and single recordings at the legendary Lokananta Records studio.

This Lokananta Young Star program is one of the Lokananta initiatives fully supported by PT Danareksa (Persero) or BUMN Holding Danareksa and PT Asset Management Company (PPA) to orbit the talents of new musicians who take part in the regeneration of the music ecosystem and contribute to the progress of the national creative industry.

Lokananta CEO Wendi Putranto really appreciates and thanks BUMN Holding Danareksa and PPA for fully supporting Young Star Lokananta through the creative industry-oriented Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, especially music sub-sectors, by using a new approach and different from most.

"In the future, we hope that this breakthrough can inspire more SOEs and other corporations to jointly encourage the progress of the national creative industry," said Wendi, in a written statement, Wednesday, February 5.

The five selected Lokananta Young Star finalists are Risti Panjali (Madiun), Man Osman (Surakarta), Sandstorm of Youth (Yogyakarta), The Kalimantan (Surakarta), and Korekayu (Yogyakarta). Prior to the recording session, the five musicians had attended workshops and mentoring with professional practitioners in the music industry last week. As a commitment to make a positive contribution to the music industry in Indonesia, Lokana Records also included seven other musicians who had participated in previous live auditions.

Wendi explained that the workshop and mentoring held last week were an important stage to provide participants with various best insights and practices in the music industry comprehensively, ranging from the introduction of the music business, music production, musician management, booking agency, concert tour management, to tips for breaking into national and international music festivals.

The music industry professionals involved in workshops and mentoring have diverse backgrounds, ranging from vocalist, guitarist, songwriter Iga Massardi, SRM Bookings & Services founder Satria Ramadhan, music promoter M Bloc Entertainment Ardy Siji, to CEO of Lokananta as well as manager of Seringai Wendi Putranto. This workshop and mentoring session also provides opportunities for participants to discuss directly with mentors, explore their vision and musical strategies, as well as prepare recorded material.

Furthermore, the five finalists of Bintang Muda Lokananta began recording singles this week at Lokananta Records, Surakarta. The recording session was produced by music producer Ferry Ekka who had helped produce several albums of the band Sheila On 7.

The recording is planned to be released in the form of a mini compilation album Bintang Muda Lokananta Vol 1 on April 19, 2025, coinciding with the moment of the world's physical release day. On the same date, the five musicians of Bintang Muda Lokananta will perform a showcase where journalists and mentors will choose three of the five musicians with the best performances to participate in promotional tours to Yogyakarta, Jakarta and Solo.

EVP Corporate Secretary & CSR Holding BUMN Danareksa Agus Widjaja said, as the only state-owned transformation and investment holding that is oriented towards value creation, BUMN Holding Danareksa is committed to encouraging the regeneration of the music ecosystem through the revitalization of Lokananta, a historic asset that is currently in the management of one of the holding members, namely PPA.

"With the spirit of transformation, we encourage the revitalization and reactivation of the Lokananta Records recording studio through the Young Star Lokananta program in line with the Asta Cita President and Vice President, which is to encourage the development of the national creative industry," Agus explained.

For information, the music industry plays a role in supporting the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia and has a major impact on job creation and growth of the domestic economy. Quoting from the Outlook of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia 2023/2024, the Indonesian music market has become more local and the public now consumes many Indonesian songs with a portion of 40% compared to foreign songs. The number of creative economy workers in 2022 will reach 24 million people, which indicates the positive impact of this industry on the community.

On the other hand, PPA's EVP Corporate Secretary & CSR Swasti Kartikaningtyas added, "PPA is always committed to being able to make a positive contribution that focuses on sustainable development."

"Therefore, the Bintang Muda Lokananta program is expected to be one of the drivers for the sustainability of Lokananta revitalization as a creative & commercial hub for musicians, artists, and MSMEs, so that it can be a driving force for the creative economy and the people's economy," he said.

Young Bintang Lokananta is a concrete step by Danareksa-PPA to encourage the creation of value after the revitalization of Lokananta into a creative center and preservation of Indonesian music. Through this program, it is hoped that participants can develop and optimize their potential, so that they can make a real contribution to the Indonesian music industry.
