Minister Pigai Asks His Subordinates Deputy Minister Mugiyanto To Handle Serious Human Rights Cases
JAKARTA - Human Rights Minister Natalius Pigai ordered Deputy Minister (Wamen) Mugiyanto to handle cases of gross human rights violations.
This was conveyed by Pigai when asked about how the handling of gross human rights was in a working meeting with Commission XIII of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 5.
Pigai stated that President Prabowo Subianto's administration would continue with the things that President Joko Widodo had done.
"Regarding gross human rights, the government of Pak Jokowi and Pak Prabowo are the same, there is no difference. What President Jokowi and President Prabowo have done is the same, 12 cases are the same, restitution of victims, reconciliation and rehabilitation are the same," said Pigai.
"What you asked, will it be continued, on what basis, right, the Presidential Decree and Presidential Decree will be issued in the near future and I have ordered from 2 months ago the Deputy Minister to handle it fully," he continued.

The former human rights activist invited members of the council to directly ask about developments regarding the handling of gross human rights to Deputy Minister Mugiyanto. Because according to him, the Deputy Minister has been given full responsibility.
"Regarding gross human rights, I have ordered the deputy minister to handle it," said Pigai.
"So everything that has been done for a long time, the same will be continued, all cooperation with housing for victims' restitution will still be continued with the Ministry of Social Affairs," he continued.
Pigai admitted that he had held two meetings with the Ministry of Social Affairs. In fact, he said, the Ministry of Social Affairs has prepared a budget.
"Then also the Ministry of Health already exists, actually all ministries already exist, we just need to present the president's decision and the president's instructions, we make a new one because 2023 has been completed. So we have to make a new Presidential Instruction and Presidential Decree," he concluded.
