Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: One Critical Victim Due To Shooting In Malaysia Dies
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said one critical victim of the shooting of the Malaysian APMM who had been treated at Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang since January 24, 2025, has died.
"The deceased had undergone surgery to remove the kidney due to being hit by a bullet, but his condition continued to worsen, until he finally died," said the Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 4.
Judha said the identity of the deceased is not yet known.
"The deceased did not bring any identity documents at all. Fellow Indonesian citizens who were treated at Idris Shah Serdang Hospital also did not know the details of the deceased's data," he said.
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur is said to continue to strive for the identification process, including through biometric records.
Meanwhile, another Indonesian citizen, who initially had a critical status on behalf of MH (original Aceh), is currently in stable condition after undergoing surgery and has been transferred to an ordinary treatment room.
Information about MH's condition has also been conveyed directly to the family concerned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Regarding the arrest of one Indonesian citizen on February 1, 2025 by the Selangor Police, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has sent a Diplomatic Note asking for an explanation and consular access for the Indonesian citizen in question.

Regarding Indonesia's request for a thorough investigation into the incident, the Selangor Regional Police investigators have determined three articles in which one article related to the 1960 Firearm Deed was used to investigate APMM officers for alleged errors in the use of weapons, according to the statement.
