Kodam I/Bukit Barisan Help Resolve Commotions In Batu Pancur Through Mediation

The incident of a commotion between members of the Arhanud 2/SSM Regiment and a group of youths in Durin Simbelang Village, Pancur Batu District, was successfully resolved amicably. The incident, which was triggered by reckless actions on the road, had caused tension, but the mediation carried out by Kodam I/Bukit Barisan and related parties managed to defuse the situation.

The commotion occurred on Wednesday, January 29, when Praka DS, a member of the Arhanud 2/SSM Regiment, reprimanded three youths riding Brong exhaust motorbikes. The reprimand led to an argument until Praka DS was suspected of having beaten him.

As a result of the beating, Praka DS was injured and fled to the oil palm plantation area to avoid further attacks. He then contacted his colleagues at the barracks to ask for help.

Shortly after that, a number of members of Menarhanud 2/SSM came to the location to look for the perpetrators of the beatings. While in a shop suspected of being their gathering place, members actually found suspicious evidence, such as a methamphetamine suction device, plastic methamphetamine remaining, and electric weighing equipment. This discovery sparked further tensions that led to damage to stalls and several vehicles parked around the location.

Kapendam I/Bukit Barisan, Colonel Inf Doddy Yudha, confirmed that his party had taken quick steps to control the situation.

"We have held an extraordinary rally for all personnel of the Arhanud 2/SSM Regiment to prevent countermeasures and ensure this incident does not develop more widely," he said.

Kodam I/Bukit Barisan has also mediated with residents and PKN Organizations to resolve this issue peacefully. In addition, coordination with the local police continues to be carried out to handle this incident, including further investigations into allegations of beatings and drug findings at the scene. As is known, the war on drugs is an order from the TNI leadership, both the TNI Commander and the Army Chief of Staff.
