PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) affirms its commitment to support the progress of the younger generation in the field of soccer. GIS provides guidance through three Football Schools (SSB) established in the Company's operational area, including SSB SIG Tuban, Dynamix Soccer School Tuban, East Java, and SSB Semen Padang, West Sumatra. The total number of participants receiving coaching now reaches 406 children with an age range of 7 to 17 years.

GIS's commitment to support young Indonesian talents is in line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, to realize President Prabowo's Asta Cita on human resource development, strengthening youth roles, and sports achievements, especially in 100 Working Days of President Prabowo.

The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, provides support for GIS' efforts to develop SSB in the company's operational areas. According to Erick, this is in line with the big vision of SOEs to build an ecosystem that supports the development of the potential of the younger generation.

SSB support as done by GIS is a real example of how SOEs contribute to the development of young talents while at the same time encouraging national sports growth. Through this program, young people are not only taught skills in playing football, but are also equipped with sportsmanship, hard work, and the spirit of collaboration which is the foundation of success in various fields," said Erick Thohir.

SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni, said that the SSB coaching program is a tangible manifestation of SIG's contribution in creating young Indonesian talents who excel.

"We are committed to providing directed assistance to the younger generation, not only in the aspect of football's playing skills, but also in building characters through hard work values, sportsmanship, and the spirit of collaboration," said Vita Mahreyni, in a written statement, Tuesday, January 28.

In an effort to support quality coaching, SIG ensures that all major coach (Head Coach) SSB assisted by SIG Group has an official license from the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), from the National D base to the B AFC professional level which is able to oversee Indonesian League 2 clubs. In addition, GIS also provides opportunities for new coaches and assistant coaches who do not yet have a license to take part in PSSI's licensed coaching school program. This step is part of GIS's efforts to produce talented young coaches from the company's operational areas.

Vita Mahreyni added, GIS also provides support for facilities and infrastructure for SSB activities such as sports equipment and national standard soccer fields. In addition to technical training, SSB participants also get the opportunity to enrich their experience through friendly matches with other SSB clubs around the company's operational areas to strengthen mentally and increase the confidence of young players.

"With adequate facilities, it is hoped that the players' abilities can develop comprehensively and optimally both physically, technically, and experience," said Vita Mahreyni.

SIG's commitment to early-age sports development has resulted in various proud achievements. SSB SIG Tuban won 1st place in the Soeratin Cup for the Age Group (KU) 13 and 15 years, reaching the top 6 in the East Java Province zone. In addition, he won 1st place in the Tuban ASSEKAB Cup in 2023 for KU 10 and 13 years, and in 2024 for KU 10 years. Dynamix Soccer School Tuban fostered by SBI Tuban Factory also scored an extraordinary achievement by becoming the Champion 1st of the ASSEKAB Tuban Cup in 2024 for the 15 year age group.

Meanwhile, the Semen Padang SSB also managed to score brilliant achievements, including winning 1st of the 2016 Provincial Menpora Cup for KU 14 years, 1st place winner of the SDB Lansek Manih Festival in Sijunjung district in 2020 for KU 14 years, 1st place in the Murni U-12 Development League at the Provincial level in 2023, and 1st place in the DPD KNPI Padang Cup in 2024 for KU 13 years. In fact, Semen Padang SSB graduates also joined the professional team both in Liga 1 and Liga 2 Indonesia. One of them, Leo Guntara, who currently plays for Borneo FC in Liga 1.

This achievement shows that with proper guidance and adequate facilities, the younger generation of Indonesia is able to compete and achieve achievements at the national level.
