Update On COVID-19 As Of April 19: 4.952 New Cases, 104.319 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 54.728 specimens were examined with the results of 4.952 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.609.300 people and 104.319 active cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, April 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 6.349 cases so that a total of 1.461.414 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases that died increased by 143 people and a total of 43.567 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1.421 cases and a total of 268.308 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 973 new cases with a total of 400.048 cases. Central Java has 678 new cases and a total of 179.134 cases. Then, East Java has 253 new cases and a total of 144.679 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1.876 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 988 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 853 recovered cases, and Bali with an increase of 248 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 13.870.157.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.77 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 63.736 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 10.966.934 people have been vaccinated against the first dose of COVID-19, and 6.050.732 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of priority vaccination for phase 1 and 2 reached 40.349.051 people.
