This Is The Cause Of Chili Prices In Serang City Reaching IDR 120 Per Kg

JAKARTA - The Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade (Diskoukmperindag) of Serang City, Banten, revealed that the cause of the price of cayenne pepper continues to increase to reach Rp120,000 per kilogram.

The head of the Serang City Diskopukmperindag, Wahyu Nurjamil, said that the increase in chili prices was due to weather factors. This resulted in the decline in chili production in farmers and prices increased.

"Because it is the weather. So, there are those who should harvest chili, it turns out that it is not harvested. That's why the distribution for chili is currently a bit reduced," said Wahyu Nurjamil, ANTARA, Sunday, January 26.

He said the price of red cayenne pepper almost occurred in all regions in Indonesia. And from the results of field monitoring, he said that red cayenne pepper at the Rau Main Market, Serang City is still high in the range of Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 120 thousand per kilogram.

"That this also happens in various regions. So it's not just in Serang City," he said.

Wahyu admitted that his party had coordinated with the National Food Agency (Bapanas) in order to stabilize the price of red cayenne pepper.

"Bapanas also told us that, if it is possible later by Badanas, there will be intervention from Badanas," he said.

In addition, his party admitted that Diskopukmperindag would continue to monitor prices, especially chilies in a number of markets, so as not to continue to increase.

"We are also monitoring basic commodities to the Rau Main Market, Serang City, to find out the prices of basic commodities. Usually there are reports to us every day," he said.
