Kemenkop Officially Forms A Troubled Cooperative Revitalization Task Force, Budi Arie Orders Direct Work

"This task force will immediately work," said Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi, in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday, January 25.

Budi Arie explained that the Task Force involved various elements ranging from the Prosecutor's Office, Police, Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), Financial Services Authority (OJK) to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

"This aims to revitalize problematic cooperatives. The involvement of various stakeholders is aimed at improving or revitalizing a cooperative. For example, PPATK in terms of tracing cooperative assets," said the Coordinating Minister.

It was stated that the scope of the Task Force as an Ad Hoc Team between related Ministries/Institutions was to coordinate steps to handle problematic cooperatives with the aim of prioritizing the payment of deposits for cooperative members.

"Also, efforts to restore the cooperative's institution with one of the main indicators are the implementation of the RAT to discuss the sustainability of the cooperative business," said the Coordinating Minister.

According to Menkop Budi Arie, members of the Task Force carry out their duties in accordance with the authority of each relevant Ministry / Institution.

"And the Task Force seeks to oversee the homologation decision after the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations or PKPU," said the Coordinating Minister.

Currently, Budi Arie continued, there are eight cooperatives under supervision. Among others, the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP), the Wahana Sentosa Berkah Service Cooperative, KSP Sejahtera Bersama, KSP Pracico Inti Utama, KSP Pracico Inti Sejahtera, KSP Intidana, KSP Timur Pratama Indonesia, and KSP Lima Garuda.

In addition to revitalizing the 8 cooperatives, the task of the Task Force is also to handle other problematic cooperatives in the regions. "So, of course, it is necessary to coordinate with the Provincial/Regency/City Cooperation Service. In addition, a strategy for merging or merging between cooperatives will also be carried out to anticipate the occurrence of problematic cooperatives and increase the scale of the cooperative economy," said the Coordinating Minister.

For the Coordinating Minister, the existence of the Task Force is also to ensure that cooperatives can resume operations normally and transparently, so that they can provide optimal benefits for their members.

"For example, currently there are still cooperative assets that are still confiscated by the authorities," said Budi Arie.

Over time, two cooperatives were able to get out of the critical period, namely KSP Intidana and KSP Sejahtera Bersama. The two cooperatives have carried out the obligation to hold the Annual Member Meeting (RAT) as the highest forum to accommodate the interests of members and are expected to gradually run their business.

For the other six cooperatives, the Task Force will continue to monitor and assist the PKPU/homologation process which is still ongoing until the end of 2025, as well as in 2026.

"Of course, by prioritizing asset based resolution (asset resolution) and encouraging law enforcement officials to prioritize the homologation process (perdata) by prioritizing the principle of ultimum remedium," said Budi Arie.
