Khofifah: This Year There Are 35 Doctors Who Are 'born' From Islamic Boarding Schools In East Java

JAKARTA - In 2025 there will be as many as 35 new doctors who were born from the "rahim" of Islamic boarding schools in East Java Province, said the elected Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, at the 102nd Harlah reception of Nahdlatul Ulama at Nurul Jadid Paiton Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo Regency, Friday, January 24.

"We would like to present to the East Java Nahdlatul Ulaman (PWNU) Regional Management, there will be 35 new doctors from Islamic boarding schools, including Ma'had Aly," Khofifah in front of thousands of NU scholars and cadres who attended the NU Harlah, quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 25.

The General Chairperson of the NU Muslimat also said that apart from 35 new doctorates from Islamic boarding schools, in March 2025 there would also be 51 young scholars who graduated from Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt.

According to Khofifah, strengthening human resources (HR) will strengthen NU in East Java to pick up Indonesia Gold in 2045.

In his remarks, he also expressed great hope for the realization of East Java as a new gateway for the archipelago.

Khofifah also conveyed that the large homework faced by Indonesia became a developed country in 2045, especially on poverty indicators.

He said, one indicator of developed countries is that poverty is at 2 percent, while currently the percentage of poor people in the country is almost 9 percent.

"In the context of East Java, where the population in fact is dominated by Nahdliyin, we hope that big homework will become a work plan, especially in NU, now many are fronted by professionals, professors and professors," said Khofifah.

From observations, NU's 102nd Harlah commemoration at Nurul Jadid Paiton Islamic Boarding School was attended by a number of important figures, including PBNU Deputy Chair KH Zoelfa Musthofa, PBNU Deputy Rais KH Anwar Iskandar, East Java PWNU Rais KH Anwar Mansyur, East Java PWNU KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz.
