KKB Spreads Narratives Of Police Senpi Rampas, Police: Propaganda, Spread Fear

The National Police has denied claims by the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that they claimed to have stolen two firearms belonging to police officers in Puncak Jaya.

Head of Damai Cartenz Police, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, said that the claim was just a propaganda narrative aimed at causing unrest in the community.

"We ensure that the claim to steal firearms by the KKB is false information. This is part of propaganda that is deliberately spread to influence public opinion and create fear in society," Faizal said in his statement, Friday, January 24.

Therefore, the National Police together with the TNI will continue to carry out law enforcement operations in Papua. Just to protect the public from threats from armed groups.

In addition, the National Police will not be affected by the narratives made to distract the security forces.

"We remain focused on our main mission, namely maintaining security and public order. Every KKB action that violates the law will be dealt with according to applicable regulations. The National Police and the TNI are fully synergizing to ensure stability in the Papua region," he added.

On this occasion, Faizal also appealed to the Papuan people not to easily believe in one-sided information that cannot be verified.

"We urge the public not to be provoked by unclear claims. Official information will only be conveyed through official channels from the government and the police. Together we must fight propaganda aimed at breaking national unity," said Brigadier General Faizal.
