This Is The Reason Why The Police Haven't Processed The Crime Scene After The Glodok Plaza Fire

JAKARTA - For more than a week after the deadly fire at Glodok Plaza, Tamansari District, West Jakarta, West Jakarta Metro Police and the National Police Headquarters Laboratory have not conducted a crime scene (TKP).

The TKP processing process has not yet been carried out to find out the main cause of the Glodok Plaza fire because joint officers are still searching for the body parts of the fire victims who eliminated 14 workers and visitors.

"For the implementation of the crime scene, the Labfor will first see the conditions of the crime scene, whether the crime scene can be processed. Seeing earlier, piles of building materials due to burning, prevented the search and processing of the crime scene," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi to reporters at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Friday, January 24.

Kombes Twedi has not been able to explain when the Police will conduct a crime scene post-fire at Glodok Plaza, West Jakarta.

"So for the decision when, later from the Forensic Laboratory, we can state that the area can be processed by the TKP. Because this prioritizes accuracy and accuracy," he said.

Kombes Twedi also explained that his party could not arbitrarily lift the material at the Glodok Plaza scene.

"Because it anticipates the existence of body parts (parts of the body) there. So it can't be rushed," he said.

As of Friday, January 24, 2025, the search for victims of the Glodok Plaza fire was still being carried out by a joint team of firefighters, BPBD and Polri.

"For sweeping, we have adjusted it from the head of the disaster management team, namely from BPBD. When will the last search be carried out," he concluded.
