Already With Ministry Status, Deputy Chairman Of Commission IX Of The DPR Supports Atnaker Under KemenP2MI

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI Putih Sari supports the Manpower Attach (Atnaker) under the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI). This needs to be done considering the very important task of Atnaker.

"Because it has become a ministry, we support Atnaker under the Ministry of P2MI because in accordance with the function of Atnaker it is in charge of protecting and placing PMI in the placement country as well as playing a role in finding job opportunities in the placement country," explained Putih Sari when contacted, Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.

Not only that, according to the Gerindra Party's politics, Atnaker also needs to be formed in each country where migrant workers are placed. Currently, Atnaker has Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait City, Riyadh, Amman, Bandar Seri Begawan, Damascus, Doha, Seoul, Singapore and the Technical Staff of Manpower in Hong Kong and Jeddah, and is still technically correlated with the Ministry of Manpower.

"It is very necessary (Atnakers are formed in the placement country, ED) because the Atnaker main task is clear," he explained.

Atnaker in Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers is stipulated in the context of increasing bilateral relations in the field of employment and protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers abroad.

In Article 45, the Atnaker is proposed by the Ministry of Manpower to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In Article 22 paragraph (4), Atnaker's duties and authorities are regulated in Presidential Regulations, but until now it has not been issued.

Putih Sari asked the Ministry of P2MI to coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding Atnaker. Meanwhile, Member of Commission IX NasDem faction Nurhadi added, Atnaker in every country where Indonesian Migrant Workers are placed proves the presence of the state.

"I think it is very necessary for Atnaker to exist in every country where there are Indonesian Migrant Workers. This is a sign that the state is present," explained Nurhadi.

The important task of protecting Indonesian Migrant Workers abroad is the responsibility of representatives of the Republic of Indonesia through the placement of eachatnaker as mandated by Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Migrant Workers.

"The task of protecting PMI while working is the responsibility of the Representative of the Republic of Indonesia through Atnaker. In addition, the main task of Atnaker is to provide input in the preparation of policies in his country,"

"You must be able to build good relations with stakeholders in the placement country and promote employment fields as well as look for job market opportunities in the placement country," said Nurhadi.
