PTPP Builds International Standard Hospital In Bali, Ready To Operate This Year
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) one of the leading construction companies in Indonesia, noted significant achievements in the development of Bali International Hospital (BIH), a medical service center that has international standards.
The construction of the Bali International Hospital (BIH) until January 23, 2025 has reached 98.77 percent on a progress basis. Various standards, both national and international, have been pocketed by BIH, including Green Building Certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia, certified by BAPETEN for radiation oncology bunkers, referring to the standards of Joint Commission International (JCI) for International Hospitals, referring to the standards of the American Society for Testing and Material (ASTM) and the American National Standards Institute (ANCESI) for testing key materials including Building Facilities.
The BIH project includes a building covering an area of 67,465 square meters on an area of 50,000 square meters. With the concept of an open space building of more than 60%, this project has a site area of only 36.8%. In addition, BIH conserves more than 50 percent of existing trees by adjusting the layout and building design.
Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development of the Republic of Indonesia Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (Menko AHY) during his visit today congratulated him on the progress of construction work from the Bali International Hospital project which has complete world-class quality and medical facilities.
"Congratulations on the progress of construction work from the Bali International Hospital Project, which I saw earlier, the building is very good and has the quality of world-class buildings. Plus, medical facilities that have high technology," he explained.
In addition, Coordinating Minister AHY also explained that if international hospitals in the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) were already operating, not only Indonesians could seek treatment here, but could attract patients from various countries because not only complete facilities and had advanced technology, but this BIH had a different atmosphere.
"I give my respect and pride to all parties, because this is not just a business project, but a hospital project which means also a humanitarian project," he concluded.
The BIH building also puts forward the concept of Adiluhung (Implementation of the Bali Cultural Architecture) and carries the concept of healing resorts to support patient recovery therapy. Supported by world standard infrastructure, BIH has several services that require special building specifications, including:
1. Oncology bunker radiation amounting to 3 units with concrete thickness reached 2.5 meters,2. MRI room with RF Cabin (Sangkar Faraday) avoids the impact of magnetic fields outside the building, 3. Radiology imaging service with average lead plate thickness on the walls, floors and 4mm roofs, 4. Nuclear medical services with mobilization and radiofarmaka production lines go directly to the patient so that the entire area is covered with lead walls, 5. Have a satellite radiology room on inpatient services, so there is also a bunker on inpatient services, reducing the distance time of inpatients for radiology imaging, 6. The use of a pneumatic tube system for pharmaceutical and laboratory transportation to all services in BIH, 7. Application of IT systems to patient handling using TrackCare, as well as 8. The use of an integrated Nurse Call of all services.

It doesn't stop there, this hospital puts forward an energy-friendly and sustainable concept. BIH implements minimal energy use by implementing passive cooling design in public areas without artificial blasphemy, maximizing the use of renewable energy by using solar panels, maximizing the use of natural lighting while maintaining low building OTTV.
In terms of operations, BIH will have several services in collaboration with large foreign operators such as laboratories with Innoquest from Singapore, the Cancer Service Center (Oncology and Chemotherapy) with the ICON Cancer Center from Australia, it is hoped that BIH, which will operate at the end of the second quarter of 2025, will be the pride of Indonesia and become a hospital that is able to compete globally.
