Ministry Of Defense Takes Strict Action On Parents Of Innova Drivers Who Take 1 Life In Palmerah

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) has opened its voice about the case of a series of Toyota Kijang Innova cars with Ministry of Defense plates (6504-00) on Jalan Palmerah Barat II, Palmerah, West Jakarta, which occurred a few days ago.

Head of the Defense Information Bureau (Karo Infohan) of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Frega Wenas Inkiriwang stated that the man with the initials MSK who drove a car with a TNI service plate that hit a person and a vehicle using a car without his parents' permission.

"His son (MSK) used the car without his parents' permission. The car was a civilian car that was lent by the Ministry of Defense service plate," said Brigadier General Frega Wenas Inkiriwang, Thursday, January 23.

As a result of the accident, MSK's parents, who are State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Ministry of Defense, were subject to administrative sanctions and revoked the right to borrow the Ministry of Defense's official license plate number.

"The civil servant concerned has also been investigated by the General Bureau and received administrative sanctions and the revocation of the loan rights for the Ministry of Defense service number," he said.

Brigadier General Frega also said that the Ministry of Defense continues to provide assistance to victims, as a form of concern and monitoring the development of the victim's condition at all times.

Until now, the Ministry of Defense's Security Section has conducted an internal investigation in coordination with related parties.

"It will give strict sanctions if violations are found by members of the Ministry of Defense," he said.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense did not extend the validity period of official plate number 6504-00 from the Toyota Kijang Innova driven by MSK at the time of the incident.

"The Ministry of Defense's Security Section does not extend the validity period of the service plate as a form of commitment from the Ministry of Defense to maintain public integrity and trust," he said.

After the accident, Toyota Kijang Innova with the Ministry of Defense's official license plate (6504-00) was secured by the West Jakarta Metro Police. The car has changed to black plate.

"Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense plate has been secured by the Bagpam General Bureau of the Ministry of Defense," he said.

The MSK perpetrator is also still undergoing treatment at the Cengkareng Hospital because he was seriously injured after being beaten.

Meanwhile, as a result of the collision, a pedestrian with the initials TR died after undergoing treatment at the hospital. TR's body was buried in his hometown in Indramayu.

Meanwhile, other victims with the initials TN, S and MES are still undergoing intensive treatment at the hospital.
