The Central Jakarta Metro Police are still investigating the fire in the residential area of the Gang Laler area, RW 04, Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Regarding the two people who were detained at the Kemayoran Police on suspicion of sabotage, the police are still investigating the truth.

"We are investigating the source of the fire that caused the fire in this area," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed, Thursday, January 23.

The police chief admitted that the crime scene (TKP) had been carried out on Wednesday afternoon by the Forensic Laboratory Center Team (Puslabfor) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Central Jakarta Metro Police and Kemayoran Police.

The investigation process will continue until the discovery of the cause of 543 houses caught fire in a short time.

"All evidence and analysis results will be reported after the TKP processing process is complete," he said.

Previously, it was reported that residents of Kemayoran who were victims of the fire arrested two men carrying gasoline after a fire that scorched 543 houses on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.

Devolta (18), a resident of RW 04 Kebon Blank Village, suspected that his settlement was suspected to have been burned on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the early hours of the morning.

The reason is that residents saw 2 unknown people (OTK) riding a Honda Vario motorcycle carrying jiriken containing gasoline.

According to Devolta, at around 00.30 WIB he saw 2 people bringing gasoline into RT001.

"I'm buying meatballs, suddenly someone brings gasoline," said Devolta when met at the fire location, Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Initially, Devolta thought that the 2 OTKs were residents around retail gasoline sellers who had gone home shopping.

However, he said, one OTK entered the RT01 settlement, then poured gasoline on the residents' houses and then burned it. Meanwhile, another OTK remains on the motorbike in front of the alley.

"There were 2 people on the fire, one on the motorbike that caught fire," he said.

The fire grew so fast that it spread to other houses.

Devolta said the 2 OTKs were then secured by residents and handed over to the police.
