Not Political, KPK Ensures Professionals Handle Allegations Of CSR BI Fund Corruption

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged corruption of social responsibility funds (CSR) of Bank Indonesia (BI) which has dragged members of the Indonesian House of Representatives into a professional manner. The ongoing process does not view the affiliation of political parties.

"KPK is not political.... The KPK carries out its duties professionally, procedurally, and proportionally to all parties for alleged corruption handled, including CSR BI," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika to reporters quoted Thursday, January 23.

The KPK is also confirmed to follow all legal rules. "It should not be arbitrary and look at all aspects, including the existing evidence," he said.

Furthermore, Tessa also denied that this case was stagnant. Investigators, he said, continued to carry out the Bukkti tool.

"Both through the process of summoning witnesses and other processes, such as searches and confiscation," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

"So, later if there is an update as asked if there is a suspect determination," continued Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the Social Responsibility Fund (CSR) of Bank Indonesia (BI). The investigation uses a general investigation warrant (sprindik) signed in the third week of December 2024.

There is no name in the regulation yet. However, two people or even more have the potential to be charged after a search was carried out at the Bank Indonesia office to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Monday night, December 16, 2024.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission has also examined a number of parties. Among them are Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction, Satori, and Member of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction, Heri Gunawan.

In addition, investigators have also searched a number of places to look for evidence. One of them is at Satori's house in the Cirebon area, West Java.

From the search process, investigators found documents allegedly related to the alleged corruption of CSR BI funds. Then the BI office and the Security Services Authority (OJK) were also searched.
