Former Palembang City Secretary Becomes Suspect Of Corruption In Foundation Asset Sales
The South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has named the former Regional Secretary of Palembang City with the initials HRB as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the sale of foundation assets in the form of a plot of land with an area of 3,646 square meters.
Assistant for Special Crimes at the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Umaryadi, said investigators named three suspects in the alleged corruption case in the sale of the foundation's assets.
"One of the suspects is HRB, which is the former Regional Secretary of Palembang City for the 2016 period, while two other suspects, namely the ultrasound who acts as an asset seller and YHR as the former Head of the Palembang City Land Agency Measurement and Mapping Survey Section in 2016," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 22.
He said the three suspects carried out the modus operandi by issuing certificates that were not in accordance with procedures by manipulating data on objects and making fake identity certificates.
The suspects were previously examined as witnesses and the investigative team had collected evidence and evidence so that based on preliminary evidence, it was sufficient to determine them as suspects.
State financial losses based on audit reports are estimated at IDR 11.7 billion. The suspects are now being held at the Pakjo Detention Center for the next 20 days for investigation purposes.

The suspect was charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
Then the subsidiary Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 U of the Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
Meanwhile, 77 witnesses who have been examined in the case.
