Prabowo Allocates IDR 48.8 Trillion For IKN, What To Build?

JAKARTA - Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (IKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said President Prabowo Subianto had approved the APBN of IDR 48.8 trillion for IKN during the 2025-2029 period.

Basuki said this budget is to complete the judiciary and legislative office complexes, including the ecosystem. This cost is also to open supporting access to the IKN West II Planning Area (WP).

"For this reason, in completing the program from 2025 to 2029, a state budget of IDR 48.8 trillion is needed. First, to complete the legislative, judicial complexes, supporting ecosystems and open access to IKN for the WP2 area," said Basuki after a limited meeting as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Tuesday, January 21.

The Rp48.8 trillion budget is also used to maintain or manage facilities and infrastructure that have been completed in the early stages. Basuki said that the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) would hand over the management of facilities and infrastructure to the IKN Authority to be managed by APBN.

He added that President Prabowo Subianto also targets IKN to become the capital of Indonesian politics in 2028. Therefore, said Basuki, President Prabowo gave directions and re-checked the designs of the judicial and legislative ecosystems to be built in IKN.

"For the judiciary and legislature, there has been a basic design from the Ministry of PUPR, he asked for another review. Then, later with the Ministry of Public Works, we will form a design team that can be directed by the president in the future," said Basuki.

The development of IKN during the 2022-2024 period has cost up to Rp89 trillion, which comes from the APBN. According to Basuki, the budget has been used to complete the construction of Phase I Nusantara.

"So at the beginning of 2022-2024, the APBN has invested IDR 89 trillion for toll roads, 47 residential towers, sanitation, reservoirs, retention ponds, offices. Then, secretariat offices and prayer facilities such as mosques, basilica and churches, all of which were carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and previously," he said.

Meanwhile, investments originating from the private sector until September 2024 have reached IDR 58.41 trillion. "This progress is now that some are already running, it has been completed and some are in design preparation," concluded Basuki.
