Saudi Arabian Citizen Overstay Aniaya Marbut In Bogor, Immigration Deports
The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections deported a Saudi Arabian citizen (WN) with the initials MA who had persecuted the marbut of the Al-Muqsith Mosque in Cisarua, Bogor.
According to the Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman, based on the examination of immigration documents; the Supreme Court has only exceeded the time limit for residence permits or overstays since January 8, 2025, where the person concerned entered Indonesia using Visa on Arrival (VoA) on December 10, 2024.
"The Supreme Court violates Article 78 of Law (UU) Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration regarding overstay, so that it can be subject to a fine of Rp. 1 million per day and violates Article 75 of the Immigration Law because it has disrupted security and order," said Yuldi at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday, January 17, confiscated by Antara.
He said in the article it was stated that foreigners who did not respect and obey statutory regulations and violated public order could be subject to immigration administrative action (TAK).
Immigration sanctions can be in the form of deportation, deterrence, restrictions on residence permits, changes in residence permits, and cancellation of residence permits.
According to him, Indonesia's appeal as a tourist and business destination not only opens up greater economic opportunities, but also potential violations of foreigners that may be higher.
Therefore, he emphasized that immigration officers throughout Indonesia proactively supervise the presence and movement of foreign nationals (WNA) in their area.
"We also encourage the public to be participatory in conveying alleged violations of foreigners around their homes," he said.

Yuldi said the incident of the persecution of Saudi Arabian citizens against the marbut of the mosque had gone viral on social media.
Nevertheless, he said, the persecution was a minor abuse.
He explained that the persecution took place on Sunday (12/1). At that time, the Head of the Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, Bogor Ruhiyat Tolib, received information related to the incident of beating a mosque named Rohmat.
The persecution, he continued, was carried out because the Supreme Court refused to take off footwear in the sacred area of the Al-Muqsith Mosque, which was caught by CCTV at the mosque.
Furthermore, the Bogor Non-TPI Class I Immigration Office secured the MA who was in a villa in Cisarua Bogor.
